Incorporating Local Haplotype Sharing to Detect Genetic Associations

The proposal seeks to develop statistical models and efficient computational methods to detect local haplotype sharing and to apply it to genetic association studies. The first specific aim uses local haplo- types as genetic variants to detect association; the second specific aim uses local haplotypes as genetic background to test for association; the third specific aim extends the method to sequence data and analysis of rare variants; and the last specific aim is the development of software packages that implement the methods.
