Elevating Youth and Family Voices to Improve HIV Care: A Stigma Reduction Approach

Project Goal: The project will implement a series of educational workshops designed to elevate the voices of AYA living with HIV and their families in order to inform the development of innovative and replicable models for culturally and developmentally appropriate HIV primary health care. The workshops will elicit AYA and parent/caregiver perspectives regarding barriers and facilitators of retention in HIV care and adherence to ART; the impact of intersectional stigma and discrimination on HIV treatment outcomes, identity formation, and overall wellbeing; and the role of family members in supporting HIV care management, coping capacity, and resilience.
