President and Head Coordinator. Various Workshops and STEM Fairs for K-12 Children. Neuroscience Student Advisory Council and Nu Rho Psi National Honor Society, Carnegie Mellon University. August 2014 - May 2018

Community Outreach

I founded the Carnegie Mellon chapter of Nu Rho Psi, the national neuroscience honor society, and served as the chapter's President for two years. In association with Nu Rho Psi and the Neuroscience Student Advisory Council, I coordinated and facilitated over 35 annual hours of educational outreach events, charity fundraisers, social activities, and professional development workshops on the CMU campus and in the surrounding community, promoting awareness of neuroscience-based careers and health issues. Educational service to the public included outreach in local schools and at public STEM fairs, as well as a self-designed workshop for elementary and middle school students. As the head coordinator and planner of the workshop, I developed a three-hour lesson plan to teach young students about the brain using engaging crafts, demonstrations, and games. Students provided positive feedback in post-workshop evaluations and expressed excitement about what they had learned.
