Invited Lectures ; Sucheta Mazumdar ; Asian Americans have often been stereotyped either as perpetual foreigners or as a passive model minority while their social activism in the struggle for civil rights and for social justice in America has been obscured. This lecture introduces the diverse voices of Asian America, the history of the Asian Pacific American political and labor movement, and social activism today.
