Terahertz switch/modulator based on metamaterials

Real-time control of terahertz metamaterial has been experimentally demonstrated through an electrical approach. The THz switching and modulation capabilities are realized by the external voltage bias to a planar hybrid metamaterial-semiconductor structure. © 2007 Optical Society of America.
