QED effects of higher orders in DIS
The present status of the theoretical description of the deep inelastic scattering of leptons off protons with account for radiative corrections (RCs) in the leading and next-to-leading approximations are reviewed. For the process ep → epγ along with RC coming from the emission of virtual, soft, and additional hard photons, it has been considered an e+e- pair production in the leading approximation. The Compton tensor with a heavy photon in the case of a longitudinally polarized electron is presented. A cross section for a special experimental setup with the tagging of an additional hard photon is given to the nonleading order. A similar consideration is carried out for a cross channel, namely, electron-positron annihilation into hadrons with the emission of a hard photon by initial leptons. The details of calculations are given in the appendices. Copyright © 2001 by Akushevich, Kuraev, Shaikhatden.
