Distribution and synthesis of molecular species of phosphatidyl choline in weanling rat liver

The distribution of monoenoic, dienoic, tetraenoic and hexaenoic species of phosphatidyl choline (PC) in weanling rat liver was 20,40, 29.67, 38.29 and 12.82% respectively whereas that of the species of phosphatidyl ethanolamine (PE) was 2.12, 7.66, 18.80 and 68.02% respectively. The incorporation of [2 14C] choline radioactivity was largely in monoenoic and dienoic species of PC (about 65%) whereas that of [14C] methionine was in tetraenoic and hexaenoic species of PC (about 83%).
