Surgical approach to lateral OLT
Posterolateral osteochondral lesions of the talus (OLTs) represent approximately 5 % of all OLTs. With current arthroscopic techniques, most posterolateral OLTs may be readily managed arthroscopically. Should the posterolateral OLT fail to respond to or not be amenable to arthroscopic management, secondary reconstructive procedures including osteochondral transfer, ACI, juvenile allograft cartilage implantation, or structural allograft reconstruction may be considered.
