Endoscopic thyroidectomy in the neck

Although minimally invasive thyroidectomy started as a “closed” purely endoscopic thyroidectomy with incisions in the neck, today these techniques are not widely practiced. They are mentioned though for their historical interest and potential lessons for other similar future endoscopic attempts.
