To allay anxiety about the maternity clinical experience, nursing faculty developed a simulation to enable prelicensure students to rehearse their 1st day on the maternity unit. Results from student feedback on Maternity Boot Camp indicate that students feel better prepared and more confident. They receive credit for the 8-hour day, which is applied to the 56 hours of clinical time required by this rotation.
