Retrograde urethrography, a valuable diagnostic aid, also involves certain hazards. In the presence of urethral stricture, retrograde injection may rupture the urethra causing extravasation into the corpus spongiosum, corpora cavernosa and the associated lymphatic and venous drainage of these strictures. A case of massive urethral extravasation is reported and the anatomy and histopathology are discussed.
