Preparing Residents to Be Effective Teachers: Get an Early Start!

Resident physicians play an essential role as teachers, but time to learn to teach effectively during residency is limited. Targeted education prior to beginning residency may help combat this problem. We successfully implemented a highly rated Effective Clinical Teaching course for graduating medical students that improved confidence in teaching skills.
