Tunable terahertz 3D metamaterials

We present novel optically tunable 3D metamaterials operating at terahertz frequencies with an approximate tuning range of 50%. Our device has potential applications as a terahertz modulator or switch that complements previous approaches. © OSA/CLEO 2011.
