Dimension-reducing transformations in geometric, diffractive and coherence tomography may be coded to improve image acquisition rate, resolution and feature specificity. We consider example coding strategies for snapshot (scan-free) tomography in x-ray, diffraction and video imaging. © 2013 Optical Society of America.
