Phase analysis and its application in step-scan FT-IR photoacoustic depth profiling

The use of step-scan Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) photoacoustic phase spectrum, to spatially discriminate absorption from different layers of a laminar material is described and demonstrated. Comparison with the phase rotation method indicates that the phase spectrum provides higher spatial resolution.
