Shake-up processes of a two-dimensional electron gas in GaAs/AlGaAs quantum wells at high magnetic fields

Journal Article (Journal Article)

Shake-up processes in the photoluminescence spectra of a two-dimensional electron gas in a GaAs/AlGaAs quantum well at high magnetic fields are studied at a range of filling factors. We find that when the electrons occupy only the lowest Landau level these processes are strongly suppressed. A peculiar dependence of a giant 'zeroth' shake-up line on temperature and filling factor is reported. © 1998 Elsevier Science B.V. All rights reserved.
