[Ultrasonographic study on primary hyperparathyroidism: evaluation of B-mode and color Doppler ultrasonography in localization]

Seventy six patients with primary hyperparathyroidism were studied systematically by B-mode ultrasonography (BUS) and color Doppler flow imaging (CDFI). The sensitivity to the patients was 72%, specificity 92%, accuracy 87%, positive predictive value 69%, and negative predictive value 92%. The diagnostic efficiency was the highest in the parathyroid adenomas in normal position.
