Observation of a threshold enhancement in the pΛ invariant-mass spectrum

The threshold enhancement in the pλ̄ invariant- mass spectrum is discussed. The enhancement can be fit with an S-wave breit-wigner resonance with a mass m = 2075±12(stat) ±5(syst) MeV and a width ofγ =90±35(stat)±9(syst) MeV. The analysis was done on samples of 5.8 ×107 J/ψ and 1.4 × 107ψ′ decays accumulated in the BES II detector. The result show that S-wave and P-wave breit-wigner resonance functions can fit the enhancement.
