Low density lipoprotein transport in the arterial wall of normal and hypercholesterolemic rabbits

Lesion-prone sites exhibit increased permeability to macromolecules, which may be associated with monocyte adhesion and transmigration. In this study, the association between intimal macrophages and sites of increased 125I-low density lipoprotein (LDL) permeability was determined in the aorta of normal and hypercholesterolemic rabbits.
