A previous study explored the possible links between the early stages of the atherosclerotic process and the hemodynamic environment in rabbit's aorto-celiac junction. The previous study is expanded by refining the hemodynamic wall parameters through the introduction of the wall shear stress angle deviation (WSSAD) and examining which portions of the multi-branch aorta exhibits monocyte deposition and elevated permeability. By comparing the computed susceptible sites with experimental data, the role of bulk flow field transport on the development of early lesions is clarified.
