Size of "hot spots" in impact explosion of exothermic materials

Research based on work relating to solid propellants; hot spot is represented by mathematical model as rectangular temperature spike in infinitely large sample of reactant; consequent differential equation is integrated numerically and results are correlated by simpler theoretical model; prediction of experimental times to explosion.
