Vacuum spin waves through the chiral anomaly

It is shown that the quantum electrodynamic chiral anomaly generates `spin waves' in the vacuum, when a low-energy electromagnetic field is applied. Such spin waves are (in principle) observable in a vacuum region with a condensed matter boundary surface which has a finite Hall conductance
