Use of nonverbal measures of intelligence in identification of culturally diverse gifted students in rural areas

To identify culturally diverse, potentially gifted students in rural areas the Culture-Fair Intelligence Test, the Raven Standard Progressive Matrices, and the Naglieri Nonverbal Abilities Test were administered to 189 students enrolled in Grades 3 through 8 at a rural elementary school. Scores from these three tests are reported, and their usefulness in the identification of gifted children is discussed.
