METHOD OF SCALE ANALYSIS: NATURAL CONVECTION IN POROUS MEDIA.

This paper uses the scale analysis methodology in order to review the most basic features of natural convection phenomena driven by buoyancy associated with differential heating from the side. Because of its focus on the scale analysis of flows through porous media, this paper also reviews the porous media research program constructed by the author's research group during the last four years.
