Extracellular spike triggered averaging for plotting synaptic projections

Journal Article

This communication is to show that when recorded with relatively large glass-coated tungsten electrodes, the unit fields are well-defined and apparently useful for determining the extent and strength of a given afferent fiber's projection to a particular nucleus. The system under study was the monosynaptic projection of spindles of the jaw-elevator muscles to the motor nucleus of the fifth nerve in the cat.
