A Possible EMB Award Recognizing Excellent Research by Graduate Students Published in EMB Journals

Journal Article

The criteria for a hypothetical award for BME students who publish work in an EMB journal are discussed. The recognition of accomplishment is a core function of a professional society and this award is proposed to recognize the achievement and contribution of the students and simultaneously strengthen the attractiveness of EMB publications. The goals of the award are recognizing excellent students, highlighting new research, increase the likelihood of attendance and contribution to the EMBC and strengthen the attractiveness of EMB publications. The award is expected to address the awardee, the mentor, the professional community and public, giving academic quality and significance of research, the greatest weight in evaluation.
