Estimating release of carbon from forest fires in Alaska using satellite remote sensing data

Journal Article

A ground-based model of biomass levels and carbon-release during fires in Alaskan boreal forests is developed to estimate the amounts of carbon released during fire in the region for 1990 and 1991. The models gave significantly higher estimates of carbon release that models used in other studies.
