CALCULATING STORAGE REQUIREMENTS FOR OFFICE PRACTICE SYSTEMS.

Published

Journal Article

The disk space requirements of small- and medium-sized group practices using a comprehensive medical information system supported by either a microcomputer or a minicomputer are analyzed. Efficient operation requires that 23%-54% of a typical system disk be used for files other than patient records. Data is presented to allow prediction of both the number of records that will need to be maintained for a practice and the average size of each record based on the type of data required by the practice.
