INTERFACE BETWEEN A HOSPITAL INFORMATION SYSTEM AND A COMPUTERIZED MEDICAL RECORD.

There is a growing overlap between hospital information systems and medical information systems in both data storage and function. The development of an integrated system is the best approach to reducing redundancy without compromising function. An initial interface has been established between the hospital information system and a medical information system at Duke University as the first step toward achieving an integrated data base.
