EXPERIENCES IN THE DEVELOPMENT OF AN AMBULATORY CARE MEDICAL INFORMATION SYSTEM.

With rising costs of health care delivery and increased demands for information from medical providers, the need for a medical information system is becoming critical. This paper describes a minicomputer-based, data base management system designed for support of an ambulatory care delivery system. The programs are written in GEMISCH and currently run on any Digital Equipment Corporation PDP-11 series computer under the RSX-11D operating system.
