The structural and functional imaging of microfluidic BioMEMS using an integrated optical coherence tomography (OCT) and multi-photon microscope is discussed. The microscope permits the noninvasive high-resolution characterization, analysis and quantification of microsystems. The microscope takes advantage of the extensive array of fluorescent probes available in confocal and multi-photon microscopy (MPM). As microfluidic and bioMEM systems become increasingly complex with three-dimensional structural features, the OCT/MPM microscope enable quantitative analysis of bioMEMS designs.
