Trends in the applied mechanics literature

Journal Article

Generalizations about the field and literature of applied mechanics are made on the basis of the growth of the Journal of Applied Mechanics (JAM) and Applied Mechanics Reviews (AMR) through 1975. The data show that the field is currently doubling its size about once every 10 years and that there is a definite increase in multiple-author papers. © 1977.
