A laser-optic measurement system was developed to quantify the probe tip movement of the Lithoclast. The system was calibrated and used to determine the displacement and velocity of the Lithoclast probe tip at various deflection angles and driving pressures. Such data could provide critical information for the design of more effective and efficient flexible probes for the Lithoclast.
