Ultrasonic transducer simulation and field visualization 2nd joint conference of the IEEE engineering in medicine and biology society and the biomedical engineering society

Journal Article

The process of designing an ultrasonic phased array benefits from the ability to quickly view the effects of transducer modifications. This is particularly important for sparse arrays, where small changes in element placement or symmetry can have large effects on the transmitted field. Rapid feedback on these parameters is enabled through simulations that exploit modern computer processors. A program to perform these simulations is presented.
