This article reviews the salient features of diagnosis and treatment of the more common bacterial infections in adolescents, including impetigo contagiosa, bullous impetigo, cellulitis and erysipelas, folliculitis, furunculosis and carbunculosis, blistering distal dactylitis, toxic shock syndrome, and dog and cat bites.
