Simulation of a double-scattering polarization experiment with fast neutrons by means of Monte Carlo calculations
Monte Carlo techniques were used to calculate asymmetry values of a fast-neutron double-scattering experiment with 4He scintillators, recently performed to compare the experimental results with predictions resulting from various n-4He phase-shift sets. Effects of finite geometry, the influence of scintillator walls and shieldings, and the influence of multiple scattering on helium, xenon, and iron including polarization effects were taken into account. Recoil spectra of the 4He scatterers and time-of-flight spectra of the scattered neutrons were calculated. © 1975.
