Acute management of migraine: Highlights of the US Headache Consortium

Migraine is a chronic disorder affecting as many as 16% of people and placing a costly burden on healthcare resources everywhere. Migraine is treatable, particularly when the formal guidelines for its management developed by the US Headache Consortium are followed. These evidence-based guidelines are described in detail, with particular emphasis on their use in primary care settings.
