Hyperreactivity (Cardiovascular)

Cardiovascular reactivity is defined as an individual's propensity to display cardiovascular reactions of greater or lesser magnitude as compared to a baseline value when encountering stimuli or situations experienced as challenging or aversive. This chapter reviews the evidence linking cardiovascular hyperreactivity to the development of coronary heart disease and hypertension. © 2007 Copyright © 2007 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
