Arts of the African Diaspora Workshop. February 3, 2011
Conferences Organized ; This workshop gathered approximately 25 noted historians, curators, critics, and artists to share their insights with an audience of both scholars and the public, in the form of half-hour long commissioned papers, presented over the course of four, two-hour long thematic panels. In addition to twelve panelists each presenting papers that focus on broadly-defined world regions (re: Africa, Europe, and the Americas), the workshop featured several distinguished panel moderators/respondents, and a keynote conversation with the internationally renowned visual artist Carrie Mae Weems.
