Artistic and administrative direction, of contemporary music concert series Encounters: with the Music of Our Time, 1981-91; Co-director 1992- (with Professor Scott Lindroth). Presented over three hundred new works in an annual series of concerts including such twentieth century classics as Ligeti's Chamber Concerto as well as newer works ranging from Carter, Andreissen, Donatoni to John Supko, Jennifer Higdon and David Lang. Annual fund raising from such organizations as Meet The Composer, Inc., Netherlands Ministry of Culture, Chamber Arts Society, Duke/UNC Program in Latin American Studies, North Carolina Arts Council, etc.
--Mary Duke Biddle Distinguished Composer Residency, was coordinated with Professor Lindroth, 1989-2000. Program brought distinguished composers to campus for extensive visits and master classes, seminars, and related concerts in the department. (Reorganized as Visiting Composers Program, 1999).
--Duke/UNC Consortium for New Music initiated, 1999. Festivals held at Duke and UNC-Chapel Hill: Milestones 2002, 2004 and 2007.
