Pratt School of Engineering. Cultural Initiative Response Team - Communications. September 2012 - January 2013

Committee Service

Effective two-way communication is critical to building a positive culture in any organization, and the responsibility for ensuring effective two-way communication is shared among every member of the community. The Communication Response Team is charged with  Assessing the current ways that the Pratt School of Engineering and its departments communicate with faculty, staff and students;  Determining best practices for internal communication;  Identifying gaps in our current communication practices that may lead to ineffective two-way communication; and  Developing recommendations for new communications practices that might improve the effectiveness with which we communicate with each other. In addressing these issues, the Communication Response Team should consider the appropriate use of technology in our internal communication, the various types of communication preferred by the different generations in our audience, and the most appropriate method to deliver different types of messages.
