Overview

I am a PhD candidate in the Department of Sociology, where my concentrations are race stratification and organizational sociology. A Mellon Mays and IRT Fellow, I  received a BA in Sociology and Africana Studies from Bowdoin College, where my research centered around incidents of racial bias and the experiences of students of color on predominantly white college campuses. My current research touches on transnational constructions of Blackness and the ways in which Afro-Latinxs navigate competing definitions of Black identity in the U.S.
