Overview

Briana Grenert of Kailua, Hawaiʻi is a current PhD student in the graduate program in Religion. She has an MDiv and Certificate in Christian-Jewish Relations from Princeton Theological. She got her AB from Bryn Mawr College in Classical Cultures & Societies and Linguistics. Before coming to Duke, she held a variety of positions including interning at Beth Mardutho (the Syriac institute) and consulting for the Austrian Academy of Science's HunaynNet project. She has also taught, TA'd, or tutored: Biblical Hebrew, French, Musical Theatre, Classical Greek, Church History, ESL, and children's art and coding.
In her free time, she works as a Spiritual Director and writes science fiction versions of hagiographies.
She loves Star Trek, especially the original series, and regularly curses the vowel pointing in Hebrew.
