Radiology over the past several years has become an increasingly integral component of patient management, not only in helping clinicians coming to a diagnosis through a wide range of imaging modalities, but also in treatment of diseases. Interventional radiology has, in many instances, replaced conventional medical or even surgical therapy as the new standard of care. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
