Yeast is an experimental system that has led to critical discoveries in cell and molecular biology. The wide range of tools available in yeast has also made it an important system in many areas relevant to cancer including anti-cancer drug discovery, mechanisms of cell cycle control, and biological responses to stress. The present volume represents a state-of-the-art description of many areas of cancer research where yeast based systems are proving particularly valuable. This volume is of particular value to cancer researchers who lack extensive experience with yeast, but are interested in current results with this highly relevant experimental system. © 2007 Springer.
