High tibial osteotomy (HTO) is a widely accepted and performed procedure in medial osteoarthritis of the knee. Many techniques have been described (i.e., closing, opening, dome, and en chevron osteotomies), but the most commonly preferred are the opening (medial) or closing (lateral) wedge osteotomies (1).
