Inhibition of lipogenesis from glucose U 14C in liver and adipose tissues of rats fed vitamin A

Feeding of 100000 I.U. of vitamin A for two days resulted in reduced utilization of glucose U 14C in liver and adipose tissue of rats for fatty acid synthesis. In liver, the utilization of radioactivity of glucose U 14C for the synthesis of neutral lipids and phospholipids was increased and it decreased in adipose tissue in rats fed vitamin A as compared to the controls.
