In the paper the authors examine the extension of the eddy viscosity modeling approach to compressible large eddy simulation. On the basis of formal algebraic relations among the generalized central moments and the filtered Favre terms, a new compressible eddy viscosity formulation is derived © 2014 AIP Publishing LLC.
