Effect of glucagon and insulin upon biliary lipid secretion.

The choleretic hormones, glucagon and insulin, were studied to determine whether they influence biliary lipid secretion in the dog. Glucagon was found to decrease biliary cholesterol and phospholipid secretion. These findings provide further support for a canalicular action of glucagon.
