Analyzing optical coherence tomography angiography

Optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) provides information regarding blood flow and may aid in monitoring or identifying various pathologies. Analysis of transverse OCTA images of the retinal vasculature is dependent on segmentation of the retinal layers, which assigns the blood flow detected into various vascular layers. The following OCTA vascular layers are general guidelines for segmentation of commonly analyzed vascular layers, although the presence of some of the vascular layers are dependent on the location imaged relative to the optic disc and fovea.
